After first discussion with the clients as a group we started working on our design again and this week we decided to make 3D model of our new design. The basic premise behind this is that when we present our design to the client they get a proper visual idea and understand all spaces of design.
We thought of making two types of scale model for presentation one is physical model and another one is software model. For which we visited library and brought accurate measurements of site. Then we created sketch up model first and converted it into cad file and printed it for physical model.

We decided to make physical model out of cardboard for which we pasted the cad prints on the cardboard and then cut out each parts. After all the parts were cut , we joined each part carefully and we got a very good output of the model and we all were satisfied with it. We tried to show every small detail in model and the main focus of our model was the round book shelf which is in middle of whole site. We really enjoyed the process of making this model.
Personally I am very interested in model making and that is why this model making process has been very interesting for me. Yes , it’s bit difficult to make model in proper scale because there were some things that we had to cut very carefully and stick it and we succeeded in doing that and learned a lot.

Good to see you looking at both kinds of models - digital and one made out of cardboard. Keep developing your model making skills and consider a cardboard model for the coming teaching block.
