Our first visit of MA in Interior Architecture and Design is about portsea , guided by Dr Ann Coats. We went to portsea on 17th October. That visit started from the John Pound center , First we saw our site there which we have to redesign in first module of creative theories and after that we started walking on the street of portsea. We spent few hours there. We saw Community Garden , Salvation Army Building , Treadgolds , 1970s social housing on synagogue site , 18th Century buildings , Modern development on Brickwoods site , Disused Royal Naval Academy building ,The George Pub , Premier Inn on site of Hat in Hand , Brickwork arrow on the dockyard wall which shows the government property , The dockyard gate , Brunel House , St George’s Church , 1970s social housing , The Groundlings Theatre , formerly a free school , Stairwells old and new , House with elaborate doorway , Old brewery building etc.
During this walk I saw many arches which I found very interesting and because of that where ever we went I just notice Arches everywhere. It was such a great day with so much memories , new places and lots of information.
On next day that is Friday , It is our studio session and task of that day was to further explore an aspect of the area. When task was given to us first thing came into my mind was that Arches and suddenly lots of images came into my mind that I put below.

And that images were of arches. Arches are represent openings and also during portsea’s visit there are many places where arches are used in different way some where it work as door , some where it work as window and some where it just an opening and the peculiarity of arches is that it seems to work in so many different ways.
Now the another task was I have to put those imagination on paper I took one magazine and started looking at photos and collecting photos of arches stick it on paper and took pencil drew such an arch in my mind. It was such a nice and very helpful exercise and really want to explore arches more.

This post makes a good beginning - you introduce the context and walk around Portsea and then show how you focus on the idea of arches. You could now explore this element further - arches, doors, openings, windows.
